Lip Balm Ingredients: 100% Shea Butter (Butyrospermum Parkii)

GOOD FOR COLD WEATHER

*IMPORTANT: This lip balm is 100% Shea Butter. Upon receiving your order, before opening lip balm containers, please stand the lip balms in an upright position while they adjust to room temperature. Otherwise Shea Butter may be still be too hard or soft from postal delivery temperatures.

DIRECTIONS FOR TIN: This tin does NOT use a screw-on type top. Carfully align fingers on the tin and simply pull off the top. The cover should both pull straight off and be put back, when finished, with relative ease. If not, check for proper top to bottom alignment of tin and/or proper finger position. You can also work your way around the edges with a finger nail. It can be a little tricky at first. The advantages of a tin are a secure, compact, durable container that is easy to carry. Comparable size diameter to a postage stamp.

This Shea lip balm in a push-up tube is similar to the push-up tube used by Chapstick. Sungold Soap lip balms are extremely simple lip balms. In accordance with the Sungold Soap philosophy (to make the simplest products possible with a minimum of ingredients), this simple formula has been put together. It is a 100% Shea Butter lip balm. What could be simpler? And it works.

Shea Butter has been known for its moisturizing properties for thousands of years in Africa. It is said that Africans use Shea Butter directly on their skin and hair. This includes the lips, we believe. This refined Shea Butter is a white, odorless substance. Shea Butter comes from a tree in Africa called the Mangifolia, and the nut of this tree is what is utilized in making the Shea Butter.

We have come across testimonials of Shea Butter being used as a balm in Europe with healing properties. However, this is all hearsay. Sungold Soap has not actually seen any scientific evidence on the healing effects of Shea Butter. However, Shea Butter is being studied in the scientific community for its unique properties. It also goes by the name of Karite.

What is so fascinating is that Shea Butter has both oil and wax properties. Like most store-bought lip balms (that are created through the use of synthetics), Shea Butter contains these oil/wax properties naturally. It's compostion includes 5% oil and 7% waxy esters. It is almost like a natural lip balm...Mother Nature's balm.
